Hen parties are a traditional celebration held by the bride before getting married. Often the Matron of Honor or Chief Bridesmaid takes the lead in organizing the event, but the bride is normally consulted about the arrangements.. The participants are usually all women and include female members of the brides family, the bridesmaids, and the brides closest female friends. Over in America, hen nights are called “bachelorette” parties.
‘The golden rule for a real old-fashioned night of debauchery — no family, no witnesses, no snitching…’

Forget all that ball-and-chain, ‘last days of freedom’ stuff. Today’s hen parties are all about originality and style. L-plates and silly wigs might be good fun, but it’s not for everyone, and the choice of alternatives is endless. You might decide to soak up a little culture with a city break, try your hand at bungee jumping or white-water rafting, or be pampered in a luxury spa. Or, if you’re the kind of girl who can think of nothing better than a day’s shopping followed by a few cocktails in a swanky boutique hotel, there lies your ideal hen celebration.
Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with exciting games for a hens night. However, there are many ideas from which you can choose that will help you out in planning the ideal party. Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with exciting games for a hens night. However, there are many ideas from which you can choose that will help you out in planning the ideal party. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas for games for a hens night, there are several below for selection.
Truth or Dare is where one person asks someone else if they prefer to choose a truth or a dare. If they opt for truth, the original person asks a question that the other has to answer honestly. If they opt to do a dare, then they have to complete whatever task the original asker poses to them. When this is done, the person who was doing the truth or dare gets to choose the next person to participate. This is one of those free hen night party games that never gets old and can get as risqué as you dare.
Challenge is very similar to Truth or Dare except the whole truth part is eliminated. Everything is a dare or challenge. The rules for this are the same as in Truth or Dare. In either of these free hen night party games, if the other person chooses not to participate then there’s a consequence. These can be almost as fun as the original questions and challenges. Sometimes it involves drinking and other times it involves a fine that can be collected and given to the bride at the end of the night.
Other times the person merely has to buy the next round of drinks.
Banned Words is one of those party games for hen nights that are an all time favorite. Start off with a list of words that can not be uttered during the duration of the party. Common words are best so more people can be caught using them. This game continues throughout the party and every time someone utters a banned word, they have to take a drink, pay a fine or do a dare.
Fit the condom is one of the party games for hen nights more suited to the adventurous types. This one is not for the faint of heart. This can be done using a zucchini, banana or cucumber. The first person to successfully unwrap and fit the condom properly on the item wins a prize. However, you can’t use your hands!
Other Miscellaneous but FUN and WILD Games
Approach a guy in a club and ask for a kiss. Make sure that he’s single first because you do not want to start a fight.
Walk up to a married couple and begin to ask them about their sex life, as if you want their advice. Do not be afraid to get really embarrassing.
Dance up to an ugly guy and start to grind up against him for a minute before walking off.
Call the mother of the bride or groom and act hysterical, screaming that the wedding is cancelled because he or she has gotten cold feet. This is a high risk dare because it could all go horribly wrong so make sure that the bride AND groom know about this and are fine about it.
Before any hen night challenges are undertaken, make sure that everyone feels comfortable with doing them. You can include some low risk dares that stay within the group, like downing a shot, or alternatively go for higher risk like going up to guys in a club. No matter which ones you use, hens should never be forced to do something that they do not feel comfortable with so make sure that you choose a range of challenges so everyone can be accommodated. That way, everyone will have a lot of fun and make the bride’s last night out with the girls before her wedding incredibly memorable for all the right reasons!
Oh and DO NOT forget the camera!!!
